Application for accreditation Step 2 of the accreditation process

Every procedure begins with the application for accreditation. Find out here what applications are available, what other documents are required, what needs to be considered when filling out and sending the application and how the application is reviewed.

What application types and annexes are available?

For accreditation by DAkkS, submission of a formal application is always required. Depending on what you are seeking, there are different types of application and annexes.

Annexes for initial accreditation

Annexes for reaccreditation and amendment of accreditation

Annexes for amendment of an ongoing application

What documents are required for the application?

Please include the required documents in full with your application - this is the only way we can process your application without delay. All required documents are listed in each of the application forms. In particular, the following documents are always required:

1. Applicable application form and the relevant attachments

2. Up-to-date evidence of legal form

To verify the identity of applicants, appropriate evidence of legal form is required in all cases. This can include for example:

  • Commercial register
  • Register of partnerships
  • Register of cooperatives, etc.
  • Articles of association of a GbR (company constituted under German civil law)

3. Information on the involvement of a power-conferring authority

In some areas regulated by law, regulators, power-conferring authorities or notifying authorities must be involved in the accreditation process. The relevant annex to the application is required:

Flexible scope

An accreditation with a flexible scope allows the inclusion, within clearly defined limits, of additional testing or analysis methods in the accredited scope. The areas for which flexibility is sought must be specified in the application. The “Flexible scope of accreditation” rule explains the possibilities and limits of this approach.

Who do I send the application and annexes to?

Applications must be submitted in accordance with Section 2 (1) of the Act on the Accreditation Body (AkkStelleG). They must be signed and sent to DAkkS in the original (requirement for the written form). Please complete the application in full, sign and send only a single copy of the form WITHOUT staples using one of the following options:

Send digital documents with a qualified electronic signature:

Annexes and supporting documents for the application

Please note that all required evidence and annexes must always be sent electronically to a-nkb@dakks.de.
On request, you will receive a link for secure data transmission.

How is the application reviewed?

All applications are registered and formally reviewed by the DAkkS Application Service. If the formal review of the application is successful, your application will be forwarded to the relevant processing department for technical review, which will then contact you.

When will further documents be requested?

Has the application review been completed successfully? To prepare for the assessment, you as the applicant will now need to submit all required documents and data.

For each accreditation activity, the lists of documents and forms to be submitted are stored in the document search. The documents are sent to DAkkS electronically in the form specified by DAkkS.

Once all documents and data have been received and successfully reviewed with regard to their basic suitability and plausibility, concrete planning of the assessment phase begins.

Assessment: step 3 of accreditation process

Where can I find all the necessary documents?

Application forms, all other forms required and templates of the documents to be submitted are also available in the DAkkS document database. Please use the filter search, add the documents you require to the collection basket and download your document collection as a zip file.
