Our legal mandate
As the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany, DAkkS has a legal mandate: the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. With an accreditation, DAkkS confirms that organisations such as testing, inspection and certification bodies can perform their activities competently in accordance with internationally applicable standards.
DAkkS fulfils this mandate, acting as a key stakeholder in the national quality infrastructure for the benefit of the economy and the nation, and for the protection of society and the environment.
Other DAkkS services
National TBT Enquiry Point
Each national TBT Enquiry Point answers questions about specific technical requirements for companies and other organisations in their respective countries. The goal is to remove technical barriers to trade. DAkkS is part of the TBT system of enquiry points and provides expert support with questions concerning accreditation and conformity assessment.
