Making one out of two: new department at DAkkS

Change in the organisational structure
Press Release,

Change in the organisational structure of the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS): as of 1 January 1 2018, two of the six current divisions at DAkkS will be merged into one. The new department of “Metrology | Construction | Transport | Renewable Energy”, will incorporate all technical fields formerly found in divisions 1 and 5 into a new structure.

The organisational unit will be headed up by Dr. Heike Manke. With Berlin and Braunschweig, the locations of the respective divisions remain. The change does not entail any changes for DAkkS customers.

This step goes hand in hand with the departure of Dr. Michael Wolf as head of the metrology department at the end of the year. DAkkS Managing Director Stephan Finke thanked Wolf, who is moving to PTB, The National Metrology Institute of Germany, at the beginning of the year: “I have great respect for the expertise of Dr. Michael Wolf and would like to thank him for his excellent work in the past eight years as head of our metrology department. We are pleased to know that there will also be future opportunities to work with him in his new role at PTB”.

“At the same time, I am happy to note that the expansion of the areas of responsibility under Dr. Heike Manke has allowed us to ensure competent and experienced management of the technical fields of metrology and a smooth transition”, added Finke.
