Evaluation

DAkkS successfully evaluated by EA

Evaluation process by the European co-operation for Accreditation
Press Release,

The German accreditation body (DAkkS) has successfully undergone the evaluation process by the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA). The EA team visited the Berlin offices of DAkkS from 12-19 September and also participated in fifteen assessments performed by DAkkS at conformity assessment bodies throughout Germany. Overall, the evaluators rated the assessment work performed by DAkkS as good.

This evaluation of DAkkS by the European co-operation for Accreditation is performed at regular intervals. The legal basis is Article 10 of the Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008. The evaluation is based on sound and transparent evaluation criteria.

In the course of the process, it is ascertained whether the accreditation body meets the require-ments of the EC Regulation and the relevant standard ISO/IEC 17011 ("Conformity assessment – General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies"). These requirements apply above all to the structure, the human resources and the processes of the ac-creditation body to be assessed, but also include aspects regarding confidentiality and complaints.

As a result of the assessment, the evaluators recommend in their report to the relevant EA committee to confirm the status of DAkkS as a signatory of the multilateral agreement (MLA) of the EA to mutually recognise accreditation in all scopes of accreditation.

The MLA contributes to achieving the recognition of test reports, inspection certificates of certifi-cates from accredited bodies worldwide. The agreement thereby forms an important basis for en-couraging free cross-border trade and reducing technical barriers to trade.
