A new chapter in international cooperation
„We are very pleased that DAkkS is now officially a member of Global ACI. With this membership, we are entering a new chapter in international cooperation. We want to use the new structure to contribute our perspectives and experience and work together to establish strong frameworks for accreditation worldwide. This is an important step for DAkkS,” says Dr. Torben Frank, Chief Executive Officer of DAkkS.
DAkkS admitted as a full member
On 21 August 2026, the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) submitted its application for membership to all voting members of Global ACI. Following the conclusion of the voting procedure on 20 September 2026, DAkkS was admitted as a full member. As a result, DAkkS is also a signatory to the Global ACI Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA).
A DAkkS delegation will attend the next Global ACI General Assembly, starting on 19 October 2026 in Panama.
About Global ACI
Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) is the international authority on accreditation. It was launched on 1 January 2026 following a decision by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to establish a single international organisation for accreditation. Activities formerly covered by IAF and ILAC are now covered by Global ACI.
Its members include accreditation bodies, regional cooperation bodies and stakeholder organisations from around the world.
Global ACI operates the Global ACI Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA) between its member signatories. The MRA provides a framework for the mutual recognition of accredited certificates, reports and statements worldwide. Peer evaluations of accreditation bodies are an important basis for their participation in regional and international recognition arrangements.
