Prequalification/ Procurement Systems Department at a glance

Structure of the department

The department is divided into the subject fields “Remedies and aids” (prequalification in accordance with Section 126 SGB V), “PQ-VOB” (prequalification in the construction sector) and “Security services”.

Accreditations and conformity assessment bodies

The subject field “Remedies and aids” includes the accreditation of prequalification bodies that verify the suitability of providers of medical aids, such as medical supply shops or audiologists, in accordance with Section 126 SGB V (Fifth Book of the Social Code). These service providers must comply with the recommendations of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds in accordance with Section 126 (1), sentence 3 SGB V in order to be able to provide legally insured patients with aids such as wheelchairs or hearing aids.

Accreditation is carried out in accordance with ISO 17065 for the following scopes:

  • Orthopaedics
  • Orthopaedic shoes
  • Auditory acoustics
  • Ophthalmic optics
  • Guide dog schools
  • Other care areas

The subject field “PQ-VOB” includes the accreditation of prequalification bodies that prequalify construction companies. Construction companies can have themselves prequalified and registered in an official register in a pre-competitive, non-order-related procedure, reducing the amount of bureaucracy associated with public tendering procedures. Accreditation is on the basis of ISO 17065 and the guidelines of the Federal Ministry of the Interior on the implementation of a prequalification procedure for construction companies.

The “Security services” subject field includes the accreditation of certification bodies that certify security service providers in accordance with DIN 77200. Accreditation is carried out in accordance with ISO 17065 and DIN 77200 for the following scopes:

  • Stationary security services
  • Mobile security services
  • Event security services
