Pre-Shipment Inspection Department at a glance

Accreditations and conformity assessment bodies

The “Pre-Shipment Inspection” department bundles the complex and interdisciplinary requirements for pre-shipment inspection. Pre-shipment inspection is an important component in the free movement of goods internationally. In addition to technical specifications and contractual agreements, pre-shipment inspections also take legal regulations into account:

  • Pre-shipment inspection to confirm technical specifications of the purchaser, as well as quantity and value control of imports and exports
  • Proof of conformity with existing standards during or before import of goods
  • Presentation of existing requirements

Accreditation in the area of pre-shipment inspection is often on the basis of national, European or international requirements. The focus of the subject area is on inspection bodies accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020.

Benefits of accreditation

Accreditation is required to demonstrate the technical and organisational competence of the inspection bodies.
