DAkkS converts accreditations to DIN ISO 50003:2022

Transition period ends on 30 November 2023

DAkkS is now converting all accreditations in the scope of energy management systems (EnMS) to DIN ISO 50003:2022. Guidance on conversion is published on the DAkkS website. The new standard supplements and fleshes out the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 for EnMS certification bodies.

War in Ukraine

DAkkS advises of its compliance with economic sanctions

Sanctions have an impact on the work of DAkkS and of accredited bodies

As a member of the European Union, Germany has responded to Russia’s attack on Ukraine with severe economic sanctions. These sanctions may also have an impact on accreditation and the work of accredited bodies. Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) is carrying out a comprehensive review of the sanctions imposed and the impact on its own activities. In addition, DAkkS would also like to advise accredited conformity assessment bodies (CABs) of their responsibility to review the applicable sanctions.

Rule R-17011 published

New rule document sets out application of the standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17011 in greater detail

After completion of the consultation process, the new rule “R-17011: Rule for application of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17011 for the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies” (R-17011) came into force today and was published on the DAkkS website. This step is an important contribution to the establishment of the new system for the DAkkS body of rules.

In mid-February 2022, Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) became one of the first accreditation bodies in Europe to accredit a certification body for products, processes and services for certifications of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

DAkkS adapts documents – annual statement required by 31 March 2022

Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) has published the “Lists of documents to be submitted” and the “Annual statements” relevant for accredited bodies in revised form on its website. The documents were revised with due regard to the feedback provided by the relevant accredited bodies and interest groups. The documents are now available for download and use.

DAkkS first to offer accreditation of biobanks throughout the EU

Application and information

From January 2022, DAkkS will actively process accreditations for which an application has already been made in accordance with DIN EN ISO 20387. Biobanks that have already applied for accreditation will be contacted in this regard by their DAkkS case manager.
