DAkkS updates terminology in certificates and supporting documents in the area of immission control
On 30 April 2025, the 41st ordinance implementing the Federal Immission Control Act (41. BImSchV) was amended for the first time. As part of this amendment, the references to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant technical standards have been updated. This now provides a nationwide, uniform and legally certain basis for all affected and interested parties.
As a result of the amendment to the 41st ordinance implementing the Federal Immission Control Act (41. BImSchV), reference to the previously used specialist module for immission control will no longer be included in the accreditation documents issued by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS). Instead, reference will now be made to 41. BImSchV as the valid, uniform legal basis throughout Germany.
This change applies exclusively to the terminology used in certificate annexes and attestations. There will be no changes to technical requirements or the accreditation procedure, in particular with regard to assessments, monitoring and surveillance, and documentation. Accredited bodies’ existing areas of competence also remain valid without restriction.
Information for accredited bodies
DAkkS will implement the new terminology automatically as part of its regular change processes. As a result of system procedures, parallel use of the old and new terminology during a transition period is possible. Retroactively adjustment of certificates that have already been issued is not necessary.
