Accreditations and conformity assessment bodies
The “Measuring Instruments” department covers measuring instruments that are governed by the European legislative instruments 2014/31/EU (non-automatic weighing instruments) and 2014/32/EU (measuring instruments) as well as by German law relating to the making available on the market of measuring instruments, their use and verification, and prepackages (Measures and Verification Act – MessEG).
The bodies accredited are bodies that certify and inspect measuring instruments. Accreditations in this area are granted as an inspection body in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 or as a certification body in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065. In addition, competence in the testing of measuring instruments is also assessed and confirmed (delta checklist in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025).
Benefits of accreditation
These accreditations certify competence in the implementation of certifications or inspections of products in conjunction with testing in these areas. In addition, accreditation serves as the basis for notification as a notified body in accordance with 2014/31/EU or 2014/32/EU and the German Measures and Verification Act MessEG.
