Accreditations and conformity assessment bodies
The “Management Systems / Aerospace” department is responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies for management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 for various management system standards. Accreditation for ISO 9001, the world’s most frequently certified standard, also falls within its remit, as do other management system standards based on ISO 9001, such as the DIN EN 91XX series of aviation standards. Equally important are other management system standards that have been established for specific scopes, including for example DIN ISO 55001 “Asset management – Management systems” or DIN ISO 37001 “Anti-bribery management systems”.
Further certification areas include:
- Security management systems for the supply chain in accordance with ISO 28000
- Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries – Sector-specific quality management systems – Requirements for product and service supply organisations in accordance with ISO 29001
- Learning services for training and further education – Basic requirements for service providers in accordance with DIN ISO 29990
- Quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001, combined with DIN EN ISO 3834 for quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials
Benefits of accreditation
This accreditation not only certifies that certification bodies have the competence for their conformity assessment, it also independently confirms maintenance of this competence by means of regular assessments.
