The mutual recognition of the services and results of accredited bodies is a prerequisite for reducing technical barriers to trade and increasing the international acceptance of accredited assessment services without the need for costly multiple accreditations. This approach follows the principle of “tested once, accepted everywhere”. This is made possible by multilateral agreements and arrangements between national accreditation bodies and the European and international accreditation organisations.
International network Ensuring worldwide acceptance of conformity assessments
The international accreditation network
Since starting its work in 2010, DAkkS has been firmly anchored in the European and international accreditation structures. It is a member of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), the International Accreditation Forum, Inc. (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and has signed their multilateral agreements (MLA/MRA). The goal of international cooperation is to enable the worldwide acceptance of conformity assessments through accreditation, with a view to reducing international barriers to trade.
