Accreditations and conformity assessment bodies

The accreditation of testing laboratories (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025), certification bodies for products (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065) and inspection bodies (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020) in the area of information security, information technology and cybersecurity covers the following subject fields:

Products and services, new infrastructures and systems (for example cloud and Industry 4.0), implementation of European and German law on information technology and information security, operation of systems in critical infrastructures and the technologies used for this purpose.

In addition, other aspects such as the usability of software or qualified trust services pursuant the eIDAS Regulation are also covered.

Benefits of accreditation

To bring the products or services in this subject area smoothly onto the market in Europe or worldwide (i.e. for the export of products, systems and services), a test report and/or a product certificate or inspection report are very helpful from the point of view of the manufacturer or service provider, or indeed required.
