Health | Forensics division

This division handles accreditation of laboratories, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers and certification bodies for products and services in the areas of human medicine, health care, veterinary medicine, analysis of medicinal products, medical devices and forensic science and forensics. These accreditations are carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, DIN EN ISO 15189, DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020, DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 and DIN EN ISO/IEC 17043. In the area of medical devices, the division works closely together with ZLG, the Central Authority of the Länder for Health Protection with regard to Medicinal Products and Medical Devices, in accordance with legal requirements.

The Health Care department is subdivided into the subject fields of occupational and environmental medicine, nucleic acid analysis, hygiene and medical laboratory testing within the framework of clinical studies.

The department is subdivided into the subject fields of veterinary medicine and medicinal products. Accreditations in this department are carried out on the basis of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. They currently cover only areas in which accreditations are applied for voluntarily.

The Forensic Medicine / Toxicology / Biology department is subdivided into the technical fields of forensic genetics (parental testing, DNA traces, comparative samples), forensic medicine, forensic toxicology (including fitness to drive diagnostics) and forensic alcoholology.
