Focus of the technical unit

This technical unit accredits certification bodies for products, processes and services on the basis of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065, certification bodies for management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 and certification bodies for per-sons in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024. The work of this technical unit focuses on:

Prequalification of providers of medical aids (PQ in accordance with Section 126 SGB V - Fifth Book of the Social Code)

In this area, the technical unit accredits prequalification bodies that verify the suitability of providers of medical aids in accordance with Section 126 of the Fifth Book of the Social Code (SGB V). These service providers must fulfil requirements of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds in order to conclude contracts with the statutory health insurance funds, enabling them to provide patients with statutory health insurance with medical aids.

Prequalification of construction companies (PQ VOB)

This accreditation applies to prequalification bodies that prequalify construction companies. Construction companies can have themselves prequalified and registered in an official register in a pre-competitive, non-order-related procedure, re-ducing the amount of bureaucracy associated with public tendering procedures.

Prequalification of courier, express and parcel service providers (PQ CEP)

In this area, the technical unit accredits bodies that prequalify courier, express and parcel services. This prequalification allows companies to prove to their clients that they meet certain minimum standards. This applies in particular to their payment obligations towards the social security funds in order to release the client from the statutory liability as guarantor.

Data protection

DAkkS accredits certification bodies pursuant to Article 43 of Regulation (EU) No 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) that carry out certifications in accordance with Article 42 GDPR.

Security services

Security services covers the accreditation of certification bodies that certify security service providers in accordance with DIN 77200. These services are provided for example as mobile or stationary services on public transport or at events. There is a normative accreditation obligation in place for the certification of security services in accordance with DIN 77200.

Cash and value services

This accreditation applies to certification bodies that certify cash and value services on the basis of DIN 77210. Here again, there is a normative accreditation obligation in place for the certification of these services.

Anti-bribery management systems

The areas “DIN ISO 37001 – Anti-bribery management systems” and “DIN ISO 37301 – Compliance management systems” include the accreditation of certification bodies that certify anti-bribery or compliance management systems. The introduction and maintenance of management systems of this kind support organisations with the recognition, avoidance and fight against corruption and with adherence to compliance rules.

Craft

In the craft area, the technical unit accredits certification bodies that certify for example specialist companies for funeral services or specialist companies in the chimney sweep trade.

Real estate management

Accreditation in this area applies to certification bodies for persons who certify experts in real estate valuation.

DIN 15224 - Quality management systems / services in healthcare

This area includes the accreditation of certification bodies that certify the quality management systems of medical service providers, such as hospitals, pharmacies, care facilities or emergency services.

BAR procedure

According to Section 37 of Book IX of the German Social Code (SGB IX), rehabilitation facilities must ensure quality management that guarantees and continuously improves the quality of care through targeted and systematic procedures and measures. Inpatient rehabilitation facilities must have their quality management system certified in order to be allowed to provide and invoice their services. The quality management procedures developed for this purpose by so-called "issuing bodies" must be recognized by the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Rehabilitation e.V. (BAR). The accreditation of the certification bodies that certify the rehabilitation facilities is carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021.

Healthcare professionals

In this area, certification bodies are accredited for persons who certify specialist personnel in accordance with the UV Protection Ordinance (UVSV) and wound therapists or wound assistants.

Specialist personnel according to NiSV

This area includes the accreditation of certification bodies for persons within the scope of NiSV (Ordinance on Protection against the Harmful Effects of Non-Ionizing Radiation when Applied to Humans). Among other things, persons in the field of cosmetic applications are certified. The background to this is that numerous applications of non-ionizing radiation sources are now being used on humans for cosmetic and non-medical purposes. The aim of NiSV is therefore to protect consumers from the harmful effects of this radiation.

DIN 33961 - Certification of fitness studios

In this area, certification bodies are accredited to certify fitness studios in accordance with DIN 33961.
