Focus of the technical unit
This technical unit issues confirmations of competence primarily for testing laboratories for the sampling and analysis of chemical products and other products in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. In addition, the unit also accredits proficiency testing providers in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17043, certification bodies for management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17021-1, reference material producers in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17034 and inspection bodies in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020.
Physical, physico-chemical, chemical and biological analysis of chemical raw materials, intermediate and end products and combustibles constitute the subject of accreditation by the technical unit. An exception is the analysis of recovered fuels, which is managed by technical unit 4.3. Other proficiency testing items include paints, varnishes, stains, adhesives, plastics, glass, ceramics, metals and metal alloys, natural raw materials, fertilisers and mineral oil products – with the exception of fuels, which among other things constitute the subject of accreditation at technical unit 1.4.
