Focus of the technical unit

This technical unit accredits testing laboratories in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, inspection bodies on the basis of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020, proficiency testing providers in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17043 and reference material producers in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17034.

The unit’s accreditation conformity assessment activities are based on private or statutory requirements. For example, official laboratories must be accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 and Regulation (EU) No 2017/625. For all other laboratories, accreditation is independent of regulatory requirements.
