Focus of the technical unit

In accordance with its technical competence, this technical unit handles accreditation cases for testing laboratories (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025), inspection bodies (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020), personnel certification bodies (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024), reference material producers (DIN EN ISO 17034), providers of proficiency testing (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17043) and certification bodies for products, processes and services (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065).

The areas of activity of accreditations in the technical unit include:

• Non-destructive testing and inspections in the areas of:
  Acoustic emission testing (AT), eddy current testing (ET), leak testing (LT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), radiographic testing (RT-F, RT-D, RT-S), infrared thermography (TT), ultrasonic testing including wall thickness measurement (UT conventional, phased array, TOFD), visual inspection (VT), high-pressure gas lines (GasHDrLtgV, German high pressure gas line ordinance) and hazardous goods enclosures
• Certification of testing personnel and of products, processes and services in non-destructive testing
• Proficiency testing and reference materials in the area of non-destructive testing
