Dr.-Ing. Stephan Finke is a recognised expert in the area of laboratory testing and product certification, with a very good network of contacts in sectors that are important for the accreditation system. As Chief Executive Officer, he has honed the profile of DAkkS as a key stakeholder in the German quality infrastructure and initiated important strategic developments in areas including process optimisation, organisational structure and focus on services. His stated ambition is to consolidate the importance of accreditation and to position it more and more as a facilitator of innovation, anticipating future developments and helping to shape them for the benefit of society, the economy and the environment.
Dr.-Ing. Stephan Finke (born 1969 in Langen, married) studied business administration and engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt, focusing initially on electrical engineering and subsequently earning a doctorate in high-voltage engineering.
He started his career in 2004 as a project engineer in network planning at Städtische Werke AG in Kassel before moving on to the high-performance test facility at FGH Engineering & Test GmbH in Mannheim, becoming its head in 2006. In 2012, he joined the energy and automation technology group ABB Schweiz AG in Zurich, assuming the role of Head and Business Development Manager of the test facilities for high-voltage products.
Since September 2016, Stephan Finke has been Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS).
