EA General Assembly
Start of EA General Assembly in Berlin
With over 120 participants from 47 countries, the EA General Assembly started today in Berlin. At the assembly of the European accreditation organization EA, representatives from national accreditation bodies and the industry gather twice a year. The host of this two-day event is the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS).
The EA General Assembly focuses on the further development of the EA Strategy 2025. The strategy provides the basis for future advancements of the European accreditation organization and addresses crucial issues.
How can accreditation continue to be promoted as a tool both for quality assurance and international trade? In which way collaboration among accreditation bodies can be strengthened? These and other questions will be addressed by the assembly in the two coming days. "It is our all goal to find concrete answers to these important questions at the end of the assembly that are finally reflected in common resolutions," highlited Dr. Stephan Finke, Managing Director of DAkkS, in his introduction at the welcome reception on Tuesday, 21th of November.
The event in Berlin also marks the end of the five-year term of Thomas Facklam (DAkkS) as the German EA chairman. At the beginning of 2018, he will hand over the chairmanship to his colleague Peter Strömbeck from the Swedish accreditation body SWEDAC.
